On Sunday, I drove north on highway 101 to Meyers Creek Beach and then stopped at a couple overlooks on the way back to Brookings. Meyers Creek Beach has some building size rock formations that I could actually stand next to. The wind was gusting up to 30 mph, though it felt higher than that. Because of the wind, we didn’t stay on the beach for long.

Here’s a video from Meyers Creek Beach so you can hear the wind howling.
A couple pictures from different overlooks:

Today, Monday, we relocated up the coast to Gold Beach. So far, Gold Beach isn’t as impressive as Harris Beach, though it is a short drive south to Meyers Creek Beach. And north of Gold Beach is Sisters Rock State Park that should be worth checking out. It’s not a good day to be on the beach today because the wind is so high again. Felt like I was being sand blasted while walking down to Gold Beach. The haze in the image below is blowing sand.
