I’m accumulating so many pictures it’s getting harder to choose which ones to share. I’m really enjoying this part of the Oregon coast. There are several beaches separated by capes. At low-tide, you can walk around the cape to get to the beach on the other side. For me, it’s exciting to see what wonders will be revealed on the other side of the cape!
On Monday night, I returned to Arcadia Beach for sunset. There weren’t enough clouds to make a fantastic sunset, but it was still fun to be out on the beach.

On Tuesday morning, we walked about 2 miles down Arcadia Beach to get to Hug Point. Hug Point State Park is currently closed. (This morning, Wednesday, I found a parking lot just before Hug Point State Park where I could have parked. Still good to get my steps in…).

Hug Point has trees and greenery on one side. But once you cross over to the other side, it’s mostly bare rock. I just love exploring this area.

One thing about walking around the capes at low-tide, is that you can get trapped when the tide comes back in. That started to happen at Hug Point. I wanted to go further south down the beach, but decided it was time to turn around. Good thing I did. The waves were getting close to the rock “path” I walk around the cape on. On the north side of the cape the path is lower and I had to wait for a couple waves to go out to uncover the path. If I’d waited longer, I could have been in trouble.

On Wednesday morning, we drove to Arch Cape. We explored the area around Arch Cape and then walked about 2 miles north up the beach back to Hug Point. That let me see parts of Hug Point I didn’t see on Tuesday.

And Arch Cape actually has an arch. I thought the first rock formations I saw at the cape were what was left of an arch. Once I got around the cape and started heading back is when I noticed the arch.

This was another fun walk, though it was on the grey/cloudy side. By the time we got back to the van, we had walk a little over 5 miles.
