The stay in Rasar State Park has been okay. It all depends on who’s in the park. I started to get excited on Sunday and everyone started clearing out. Maybe I’ll get some peace and quiet now! Then a new couple came to the site across the street from me. After setting up camp, they spent most of the afternoon making phone calls on speaker phone! Right now, there’s some asshole off in the distance singing at the top of his lungs. Yeah, that’s what I go out in nature to hear. Might be time to go on another walk…
Beside the people, Rasar State Park is very nice. We hiked almost all the trails in the park. There are only 3.7 miles of trails in total. We’ve been on several of the trails multiple times. The trees in the park are gorgeous – some hairy and moss covered. Sometimes I’d notice how the light passes through the trees to highlight things at different angles based on the time of day.
I’ve always been into big knurly tree trunks. There are a lot of them in the park. Some taller than me! Some look like strange creatures waiting to pounce. Great stuff. Wish they would pounce on some of the noise assholes in the park! (I’m not old and grumpy…)
