On Wednesday, I drove to Brown County State Park in Indiana. To get here, I drive past lots of beautiful farm land in Kentucky. Just before entering Indiana, we drove over the Lewis and Clark Bridge

That was an unexpected treat and quite an impressive bridge. Before reaching the park, we drove through the town of Gnaw Bone. With a name like that, I’m sure it’s a friendly place.
Brown County State Park is really nice. They describe it as a mini Smoky Mountains and I agree. General Burnside State Park was very nice, but it was manicured so well I feel I was in the suburbs. Now that I’m in Brown County State Park, I feel like I’m out in nature.

Last night there where severe thunder storms. Good thing I like thunderstorms, it was a wild ride. I was planning to hike the entire Taylor Ridge Trail in the morning, but after the heavy rain I only did the first mile. I was worried that steeper parts of the trail would be too wet and slick.

Brown County State Park is so nice that we’re staying another night. Today, I hope to check out other parts of the park.
Brown County State Park is a real gem. Sam and I checked out some of the scenic overlooks, we hiked the trail around Ogle Lake. I checked out the Nature Center and the Camp Store. And we didn’t do everything the park has to offer.
