I’ve been staying at Sandbeach Campground this week. Sandbeach campground is in the Sand Lake Recreation Area; a 1076-acre playground for off-highway vehicles. I’ve seen dune buggies, motorcycles, ATVs, and side-by-sides. This place must be heaven off-road enthusiasts.
The campsites are large because they are expecting visitors with RVs and trailers for their off-highway vehicles. Most of the campsites have a good number of trees and the trees have a lot of character being shapes by the coastal winds.
The campground can be loud at times, but the noise doesn’t bother me much here. I know I’m the outsider and the whole purpose of this place is for people to enjoy their off-highway vehicles.
It’s also nice staying here because it’s relatively inexpensive – about 15 dollars a night with my senior discount. And Oceanside Beach is only 17 miles away…
