Bandon Beach, OR

My visit to Bandon Beach has been a bit of a mixed bag. Bandon Beach is gorgeous, with lots of interesting rock formations. But, I haven’t been lucky enough to get ideal conditions for making a dream photo (good light, nice clouds, calm winds…).

After growing up in Florida, my brain is having a hard time dealing with being on the beach in summer and being cold. I spend almost two hours on the beach this morning in my fleece jacket and gloves, dealing with 30 to 40 mile an hours winds and freezing my butt off. That just doesn’t make sense to my Florida genes.

Strong wind advisory
Only have good light in one tiny piece of the sky

Anyway, I did get to play around with making long exposure photos to smooth out the water. But the sky was mostly cloudy and uninteresting. Hopefully, the practice will come in handy if I do get better weather conditions someday.

I have one more day in Bandon in this visit. Looks like the clouds might not be as thick on Monday morning. Fingers crossed…
