Leslie Gulch is one of the most interesting locations I’ve been to so far! It’s like a strange cross between a western and alien landscape.

I could have gotten here on Friday, but I would have been late in the afternoon. I was also very tired from driving most of the day, so I decided to get a hotel room in Ontario, Oregon and finish the drive on Saturday morning. The cost of the hotel room was a rip off, but I’m so glad I arrived to Leslie Gulch in the morning. The morning sunlight was lighting the rock formations nicely. If I’ve arrived in the afternoon, everything would’ve been back lit.

I’m certain that’s an alien artifact in the background behind the van:

Trail from the campground leads to a nice view:

The only downside to Leslie Gulch so far are the flies. The van was invaded by flies at Priest Hole, but it’s only gotten worse here. Even poor Sam is snaping at the flies as I write this in the shade outside.
