One big part of the last couple days has been getting reacclimated with the heat. When I left the Tetons on Wednesday morning, it was 31 degrees in Gros Ventre Campground. By the time we got to Ogden, UT, it was 81 degrees. Luckily, the temperature was only 78 degrees on Antelope Island and there was a nice breeze. By morning, the van was 51 degrees which felt nice compared to the 38 degrees we had on morning in the Tetons.

On Thursday, the weather said it was 91 degrees in Hurricane, UT. At the Quail Creek Campground, my thermometer was reading 95 degrees. Quite a change from what I’m used to, but again, there was a nice breeze at the campground. It was around 71 degrees when I went to bed, so I ran a small fan to move some air while I slept.

Now, we are at Red Rock Canyon Campground outside of Las Vegas. The thermometer is reading 88 degrees in the van. With the side and back doors of the van open, there is a nice breeze blowing through the van which makes things feel better. The sunscreens are up on the driver’s side and front of the van to block the sunlight and keep the van cooler.

To my pleasant surprise, both Antelope Island and Quail Creek campgrounds had showers. The showers at Quail Creek where the nicest I’ve seen at any park so far! Very nice!
We should make it to Quartzsite, AZ tomorrow. Las Vegas has a chance of flash floods tomorrow and Quartzsite has a wind advisory. Hopefully, my first day in Quartzsite won’t be too challenging…
